A truly homey getaway

Waking up to the aroma of fresh coffee and homemade bread was a delight. The staff treated us like family, even arranging a picnic lunch for our mountain hike, making it memorable.

There was a bit of street noise during the night, but it didn't overshadow the overall warmth of the experience. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

The essentials, minus the fluff

This place is a true treasure! Two charming buildings connected by a lovely courtyard complete with a small pool. The staff, especially Memory and Prince, craft an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. With beautiful rooms over lovely views, you’re just a short stroll from exceptional local dining.

the views of Table Mountain were nice, but the early morning noise from the adjacent kitchen was unbearable. I truly expected a complimentary gesture for this minor inconvenience, but none came. Also, the breakfast room was so chilly it would have made a penguin shiver. I almost left a great review, but just couldn’t.

It was just a strong match for a short visit in Cape Town with value for price. The homemade cookies and fresh fruit in the room made the stay feel special. Be sure to explore the local restaurants nearby.

Welgelegen House is an absolute gem! The rich decor and inviting public spaces, including a lovely courtyard with loungers next to a small pool, made us feel right at home. Breakfast was simply delightful, with eggs cooked to order, homemade bread, and the staff were incredibly attentive, always ready to offer local dining recommendations just steps away on Kloof Street.

We had a super cozy stay with homemade biscuits and freshly brewed coffee waiting in our room. Breakfast was lovely with eggs cooked to order! There’s a nice garden area and a plunge pool to chill by, perfect for winding down. The wooden floors made some noise, but it didn’t really bother us. just a little tip, try the local dining spots—they're fantastic! 😊

Staying here with my family, including our kid, was a pleasure. The staff made us feel at home from the start, and the views of Table Mountain were breathtaking. We appreciated the cozy decor and the delicious breakfast spread each morning.

For dads, it would be great if there were more kid-friendly activities on-site.
